Hi,

Why is it, that when I have a childmenu on a popupmenu item, it always appears on the right (expanding the document's dimension, appearing a scrollbar at the bottom) of the menu, not regarding the dimensions of the current screen.

See www.hoogenhoudt.nl/dim1.jpg and www.hoogenhoudt.nl/dim2.jpg

Also, at the pictures you can see that I had to change the unicode arrow character to a > since that arrow isn't supported in IE6.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Kim

Popupmenus are DHTML content so, just like any other element, displaying it off screen or within range of the margin and padding of the screen, will cause a scrollbar to appear if scrolling is allowed.

If your question is why doesn't the popup appear to the left then, well, that's a good idea for a mod. I'm a bit busy at the moment, but you're welcome to take a crack at it.

I suspect you are using a non-unicode font, or one that is not complete. It's not an issue of 'ie not supporting the arrow', it's a matter of the font having that character. IE supports unicode just fine.

cheers

Hi Darin,

I would really appreciate a change to the popupmenu conditionally positioning to the left or the right depending on wether it'll be shown off screen.

Furthermore, I use UTF-8 encoding and default system theme fonts, so that wouldn't be to much of of problem I guess.

No, it currently is not on my radar and as far as I know no one else has worked on it yet.
